Heavy-wall heat shrink tubing with adhesive from Ø3 to 200mm length 1m
66,23 € HT
The heavy-wall heat shrink tubing Type PE4-A combines robustness and tightness thanks to its in-line internal adhesive. With a shrink ratio Of 4:1, it hermetically encompasses the junctions of cables by melting an internal glue which seals all. The result is reliable insulation, resistant to weather and corrosion, ideal for securing electrical connections exposed to water, buried or under difficult industrial conditions.

Détails :
The heavy-wall heat shrink tubing Type PE4-A is a heavy-wall heat shrink tubing Of crosslinked polyolefin, with an internal layer of hot-fungible adhesive. Under the action of heat (> 110 °C), it retracts (coefficient 4:1) and perfectly matches the contours of the cable or connector, while its internal adhesive melts and adheres to the surfaces. This results in a solid support sleeve, providing a dual function: efficient electrical insulation (dielectric rigidity of about 17 kV/mm) and a barrier waterproof against moisture and contaminants. The thick wall provides robust mechanical protection, preventing damage due to impact or abrasion, while remaining flexible enough to adapt to cable movements.
This thick bilayer tubing is designed without halogens and is usually black to withstand UV. It inherits the excellent chemical and environmental resistance of the non-adhesive version: weather, solar radiation, abrasion, corrosion and chemicals do not affect it, which ensures that its performance is maintained over the long term. When the internal adhesive melts during the tightening, it fills the gaps and irregularities, preventing infiltration of water, dust or air along the cable. The heavy-wall heat shrink tubing Type PE4-A thus creates a hermetic seal around the connection, preventing the oxidation of the conductors and avoiding failures caused by moisture or metal corrosion.
Oriented towards professional uses, heavy-wall heat shrink tubing Type PE4-A finds its place wherever it requires reinforced insulation and waterproof. It is widely used for the protection of buried low voltage cable connections and splices (electric power grids, outdoor lighting) to avoid water infiltration into junctions. In industry, it is used to seal the connections of engines or sensors exposed to water projections, vapours or pollutants. It is used to connect a pump 100 metres deep to the bottom of an artesian well. It is also found in the marine or agricultural environment to protect wires subjected to washing, ambient humidity and temperature variations. Thanks to its high tightness rate, a single tubing size can cover several cable diameters, simplifying the choice of installers and reducing the stock needed. In summary, the heavy-wall heat shrink tubing Type PE4-A offers integral protection (electric, mechanical and anti-corrosion) of sensitive connections, ensuring lasting sealing even under difficult external conditions.
