The internal mastic is applied throughout the inner length of the tube and remains sticky after retraction: by heating, it spreads to fill the gaps. This creates an extremely continuous joint waterproof – mastic protects connections against water, moisture and environmental constraints. The tubing retains good overall flexibility, which facilitates laying even around irregular shapes.

The mechanical strength of this tubing is also high. Its basic material supports thermal and chemical shocks. Unlike a hard adhesive, the mastic remains ductile, offering excellent absorption of vibrations and movements. Its high softening point (/ 80 °C) and very low water absorption (/ < 0.1 %) ensure that protection persists over time. The tubing remains stable after thermal ageing and the inner part does not corrode copper. The mastic keeps the tubing firmly glued, eliminating virtually any moisture recovery on the junction.

This type of tubing is designed for particularly demanding outdoor and underground installations, e.g. insulation of buried cable junctions, metal pipe tubings or exposed structures. It prevents corrosion of pipes and effectively protects buried connectors.
