High temperature tubing with maximum continuous use temperature limited to 260° C
Does this tubing accept temperature exceedances above 260°C ?
Yes, tubing high temperature PTFE can acept temperature peaks up to 400°C. However, the notion of peak is not precise, which is why we advise against operating locations with a temperature exceeding 260°C.
For a need for continuous holding above 260°C, please contact us.
Properties and performance of the tubing High temperature PTFE ratio 4:1
The heat shrinkable tubing **PTFE4**, manufactured in Europe, is a tubing High performance **PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)** proposed in 1.22 meter bar, round section, without adhesive and blank of any marking. With an initial thickness of about 0.07 mm, its minimum tightness is only 0.28 mm which contributes to its flexibility. Transparent in the initial state then slightly milky after tightened, it has a brilliant appearance and excellent mechanical hold: hard surface, resistant to tearing, while maintaining good flexibility.
Its exceptional use range from -200 °C to +260 °C, with allowable peaks up to 400 °C, the destination to extreme thermal environments. Complete retraction occurs from 400 °C (starting at 350 °C). Totally resistant to hydrocarbons, acids and aggressive chemical agents, it is also UV resistant, self-extinguishing and flame retardant. RoHS and REACH compliant, UL 224 & CSA certified, MIL-I-23053/12 Class 5 compliant MIL-SPEC SAE-AMS-DTL-23053/5 classes 1 and 2, it meets the requirements of the aviation, defence, rail or heavy industrial sectors.
