Heat-retractable working sleeve with internal adhesive ensuring quick installation and repair waterproof on damaged cables or pipes. Its enveloping design allows installation without cutting the cable, and internal thermo-fusible adhesive ensures durable protection against moisture. Ideal for use in harsh environments, it offers excellent resistance to mechanical and climatic stresses.
This thermoretractable working sleeve is an innovative repair system for damaged electrical cables or any leaking pipes, especially cast iron. It is presented as a halogen-free crosslinked polyolefin tubing that is longitudinally split and internally coated with a hot-fungible adhesive. This working design makes it possible to wrap the sleeve around the cable to be restored without having to disconnect it or cut it, it is closed by means of a metal profile, then it is retracted by heating so that it adheres and forms a new protective tubing. Internal adhesive melts under the effect of heat and fills the interstices, ensuring perfect water and moisture sealing. Once in place and cooled, the sleeve recreates the cable envelope ensuring electrical isolation and driver protection.
Technically, this repair sleeve offers remarkable advantages. On the one hand, the installation is fast and reliable as it does not require any cut-off of the existing line – a major asset for maintenance on in-service networks. On the other hand, its reinforced thick polyolefin structure (especially by fiberglass) gives it an excellent mechanical hold after tightness, equivalent to that of an original tubing. The sleeve is resistant to shock, vibration and UV radiation, while maintaining excellent electrical insulation properties. It is also insensitive to corrosion and external agents, which makes it able to protect permanently the junctions or portions of cables repaired even under difficult conditions (timeless, temperature variations, prolonged external exposure).
Applications: Polyvalent, the thermoretractable working sleeve is used in many maintenance and installation settings. It finds its place on low voltage (BT) networks for repairing damaged cable ducts or adding bypasses without interrupting service. Its ease of implementation on the ground allows rapid interventions directly in trenches, on buried cables or pipes, without requiring heavy excavation. In the rail sector, this type of sleeve is popular for the protection and repair of cables along tracks or in rolling stock, as it supports high vibrations and harsh weather conditions. Similarly, in industrial maintenance, it provides a quick, safe and durable repair solution for various electrical cables or damaged pipes. From low voltage bypass to underground pipe repair, its uses are multiple and contribute to the reliability of both electrical and mechanical installations over the long term.
