The heat shrinkable tubing thick PE4 offers robust electrical insulation and durable mechanical protection for cables, without using internal adhesive. A high degree of flexibility in adaptation (shrink ratio 4:1), it is resistant to UV, abrasion, corrosion and chemicals, making it ideal for restoring the damaged cable envelope and protecting low voltage connections in the outdoor or industrial environment.

Détails :
Made of high thickness crosslinked polyolefin, the heat shrinkable tubing PE4 (restriction factor 4:1) ensures excellent driver insulation and enhanced physical protection. Without internal adhesive, it retracts under the effect of heat (restricted temperature > 110 °C) to closely marry the cables or components, forming a uniformly tight protective envelope around them. Its thick wall gives high dielectric rigidity (~17 kV/mm) guaranteeing the electrical insulation required in low voltage, while improving mechanical robustness against shocks and crushing. The polyolefin material, once crosslinked, has thermal stability ranging from about -55 °C to +110 °C in continuous operation, without hardening or cracking.
Designed without halogen and generally available in black (UV-treated), the PE4 tubing offers excellent resistance to external aggression: it tolerates weather, UV rays, abrasion, corrosion and many common chemical agents. These properties provide lasting protection for cables subject to demanding conditions, whether on outdoor installations, industrial areas or underground ducts. Even without adhesive, the tubing remains in place without slipping and does not tear once retracted, ensuring constant long-term protection.
Thanks to its large wall thickness up to 4.8 mm, the PE4 provides solid mechanical protection while maintaining some flexibility of use. It is particularly suitable for the repair of ducts and maintenance of worn cables: by sliding the tubing over the damaged section and then heating it, an external insulation is recreated almost as reliable as the original. This thick sleeve is commonly used to isolate splicing and endings of low voltage cables, boost electrical beams and protect connections from wear and corrosion. It should be noted that the absence of adhesives rather than direct immersion applications – in a very humid or submerged environment, it can be combined with a mastic or opt for the adhesive version in order to achieve a perfect seal.
