Thermoweldable connector wire – heat-retractable sleeve with an internal tin welding ring, and just 1 thread of glue on both sides of tin. This hot-fuse connector is a special heat-retractable sleeve containing an inner tin ring. The ends of the tube contain an adhesive ring and the tin ring is positioned in the centre. When the connector is heated, the inner ring melts and merges with the copper strands, forming a solid electrical weld, while the heat retractable tube shrinks and imprisons the junction. The tubing-tin combination thus allows excellent wired electrical continuity, without any external assembly or deoxidant being necessary.
Implementation is as simple as with a classic sleeve: the size is chosen for the diameter of the wires, about 5–6 mm of each conductor is removed and both ends are inserted into the connector, ensuring that the tin ring is centered on the splice. Then apply the flame or a mini-hot air gun or hot air gun with a precision nozzle in the centre of the sleeve until the tin melts. The heat retractable sleeve is retracted in a second time with a hot air gun and deflector. After natural cooling, the solidified tin ring created an internal weld, and the thermo tubing forms an insulating sleeve. This "all-in-one" method avoids external welding and insulation tape, simplifying field intervention.
In terms of performance, this connector offers particularly reliable electrical contact (internal tin minimizes losses) and low protection against moisture. The product is designed to last in harsh environments (wide range –55...+125 °C, UV, oils, salts) while maintaining its flexibility. It is UL certified (typical value up to 600 V max.) and meets the highest safety standards. Finally, its installation is fast and safe: it is enough to repair or extend an effortless beam by cutting the existing cable and connector. Typical applications include repairing damaged automotive or marine cables, connecting exterior luminaires, low voltage networks. For optimal sealing, you need to cover the self-welding connector with a thin-walled, adhesive-lined tubing.
