Electric plasticized PVC insulating tape, flexible and elastic. It is used to isolate low voltage cables, mark (color) phases and maintain beams. Available in many colours (black, red, blue, green, yellow, purple, etc.), it is resistant to UV and abrasion. Easy to cut or tear, it offers strong adhesive power.
The PVC adhesive tape (also known as vinyl tape) is an essential part of BT installations. It is used for electrical insulation of wires and cables, as well as for marking and tracing phases thanks to its bright colours. Its excellent adhesion allows to group and stabilize beams (frettage), avoiding vibrations and parasitic movements. For example, it identifies earth conductors (green/yellow) or different phases in three-phase current, simplifying maintenance.
This PVC tape has great flexibility: it easily fits irregular shapes of cables and tubings, cutting or tearing by hand for quick use on site. Despite its finesse, it offers a good mechanical and chemical fit. It is solid and elastic, resistant to abrasion, acids and solvents, as well as UV rays. Its high dielectric rigidity (typically several kV/mm) ensures reliable protection in low voltage – in service it supports up to 600 V (current BT standard). Depending on the ranges, it holds up to about 80–100 °C.
The available colour ranges are very broad: black, red, blue, green, yellow, purple, white, grey, brown, as well as the classic green/yellow earth. This choice facilitates the visual identification of cables and the coding of circuits. For example, in low voltage, standard color codes are applied to indicate phase or neutral. In summary, this pvc tapes is a versatile insulating tape for professional use: it is electrically insulated and protected, visually marks the conductors, consolidates the beams, and offers good flexibility of application thanks to its flexible design and its multiple colors.
