This self-welding connector waterproof is a complete heat-retractable sleeve, fully lined with internal adhesive, containing a tin welding ring. In other words, the internal adhesive tubing covers the entire surface of the tube, creating a hermetic seal once retracted. When this connector is heated, the central tin ring liquefies and instantly forms a weld between the strands of each wire. The thermo tubing tightens simultaneously and, thanks to continuous adhesive, encapsulates the bond. The result is a welded wire splice and perfectly waterproof, even in temporary immersion. This "2 in 1" system combines internal welding and total insulation for ultra-fiable connections.
The installation procedure is similar to other heat-retractable connectors: the corresponding diameter is selected, the wires are defused 5–6 mm, the two ends are placed in the sleeve leaving the tin ring in the middle of the connection, and the central zone is heated vigorously. When the flame or heat is applied, the tin melts, the wires are welded together and the internal adhesive spreads. After a few seconds of cooling, the tin is solidified into a robust solder and the thermo-skin (adhesive everywhere) ensures absolute insulation and sealing. This method does not require any addition of material (no resin or ribbon), reducing the risk of misposition.
The technical advantages are important: in addition to perfect water and dust sealing, this connector is resistant to chemicals and atmospheric corrosion. Tin ring guarantees low electrical resistance and stable connection. The sleeve remains flexible from –40 °C to +125 °C, and its continuous adhesive structure makes it insensitive to vibrations and mechanical shocks. Welded wiring is often UL certified and meets the requirements of industrial or marine environments.
