Cable tie made of polyamide 6.6 and belt cable tie in TPC-ET material

The Cable ties : an indispensable to fix and organize your cables

The clamps, also called Cable clamps or Cable fasteners, are multi-purpose fastening devices used to group together and maintain bundles of wires, cables or other elongated objects. Whether it is to organize the cables of a computer network, secure an electrical beam in a car or temporarily attach elements during a stage event, these plastic links offer a fast, reliable and economical solution. They operate by a simple mechanism : Once the strap is inserted into the cracked head, the collar locks and can no longer slide in the opposite direction, ensuring a firm hold. The installation is easily done by hand, but for optimal clamping without effort there are specific and ergonomic tools – for example a clamp – which make it possible to stretch the collar to the right tension then to cut clearly the excess band. The use of these clamps guarantees a uniform clamping and clean cutting, avoiding the prominent edges that could injure or hinder in cabling cabinets

Standard Cable ties : versatile and robust

The clamps standard are the most common version, ideal for most everyday applications. They are generally made of polyamide 6.6 (PA66), a technical nylon known for its strength and durability. This material offers excellent mechanical handling : It resists strong traction and vibration without breaking, while maintaining a certain flexibility facilitating its installation. PA6.6 also has good resistance to common chemicals, oils and solvents, making it suitable for various industrial environments. In addition, it supports a wide range of temperatures used (typically from -40°C to +85°C) while being self-extinguishing (UL94 V-2 classification), which means that it does not spread the flame in the event of fire. Other significant asset for electrical installations : PA6.6 is generally halogen-free, avoiding the emission of corrosive smoke in the event of fire.

Standard collars exist in several dimensions (widths and lengths) to fit both small and large strands of cables. They are commonly found in two main colours : natural (translucent) white) or black. The natural necklace is often preferred indoors for its discretion, while the black necklace contains a carbon additive that makes it UV-resistant and therefore usable outdoors without any sun-trailing. For example, to combine the wiring of a computer bay or properly attach the wires of a home cinema, a standard medium-sized nylon necklace will work perfectly. By tightening each beam firmly, a clean and secure installation is obtained, the cables remaining in place even if the assembly is to be moved or handled.
